The Eee PC 701SD offers a hybrid storage solution to ensure you can take all your music, photos and video on your travels. Onboard storage comes in the form of an 8GB Solid State drive which, because it has no moving parts, can withstand the occasional bump when on-the-road. Storage is augmented with a bundled 1.8-inch pocket-sized 30GB hard drive which connects via USB.

When you take into account the fact that the Eee PC 701SD is roughly half the size of a piece of A4 paper it is remarkable how many software applications come preinstalled. The Linux operating system version of the netbook is packed with over 50 built-in applications (Linux version) including education suites, standard office software (spreadsheets, documents, presentations etc.) and the usual internet applications like web browser and email. And if you prefer Windows XP you can take advantage of all the usual Microsoft Live email, chat and browsing software along with Microsoft works for the professional user.

Internet connectivity is provided via onboard WLAN and if you like to chat with your friends while on the beach you can use the Eee PC 701S' integrated 0.3-megapixel webcam and mic for online video conferencing.
