Asus Eee PC S101 Netbook

Unlike the ASUS EEE S101h (its sister notebook) the EEE S101 features a solid drive (SDD) which means incredible bootup speeds and improved battery life. Because the SDD features no moving parts you can be sure your data will be safe if your notebook experiences any of the bangs and scrapes typical of mobile computing.

The solid state drive has 32GB of storage space and memory is provided by an Intel Atom N270 1600 MHz processor and 1024 MB onboard RAM - more than enough to run Windows XP which comes pre-installed as standard.

The 10.2-inch display is very easy-on-the-eye and the 1024 x 600 screen resolution means you can view single A4-sized documents without the need for scrolling. The screen has a pleasing level of brightness and has a non-glossy finish for ease-of-use outdoors.

Battery life is a very respectable 5.4 hours (depending on usage options) and comes with the Super Hybrid Engine that allows you to configure performance and power consumption modes depending on your usage requirements. For example if your notebook is plugged in you can improve performance or turn performance down for longer battery life if you are on the move.

High speed Internet connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n wireless card and the unit also has a myriad of connection options - with 3 USB ports, a VGA port, an ethernet port and a multi-format memory card reader for your photos and music files.
